Fans using the EC technology are characterized by low energy consumption and simple control. The fan speed can be controlled by a 0-10V signal depending on requirements on air performance and highly efficient operation. To achieve the same air flow, the EC motor fan uses less energy than a conventional AC motor fan. The EC motors not only achieve energy savings at maximum speed, but also at lower speeds. In this case, the difference in energy consumption between an EC motor fan and a conventional AC motor fan will be even more considerable. The reduced energy consumption then guarantees lower operating costs. Housing The housing is made of galvanized sheet steel provided with thermal and acoustic insulation with thickness of 50mm. To facilitate service and maintenance, the motor and impeller are mounted on a tiltable cover. Impeller The impeller is radial with backward curved blades. Motor The fan is equipped with a highly efficient energy-saving EC external rotor motor. Installation The RSI fan can be started when connected to the ductwork for which it is designed, either with closed intake or discharge to avoid a motor overloading. After starting, the current must be checked. It must not exceed the nominal value (higher value can signal e.g. unregulated ductwork). The air flow direction is indicated by an arrow on the housing. The fan must be attached separately. It is connected to the ducts by means of a flange with size depending on the connecting dimension of the fan. Speed control The motor speed can be regulated by changing the transformer voltage or by a frequency converter with a sine filter for all poles. - Additional Information
